Tom Dixon Lacoste
November 9, 2006
Contemporary designer Tom Dixon works with Lacoste as the first designer to ‘reinterpret’ the classic polo for the Holiday Collector’s Series. The results are two styles of polo shirts constructed of materials that are durable and ecological. The Techno Polo combines the hi-tech weaving of lurex fibres and cotton while the Eco Polo makes use of indigo dye and adds stitching along with rougher edges on the sleeves for a more ‘distressed’ feel. These two styles are quite refreshing when the majority of the polos in the world share similar styles and materials. In addition, both styles will come in their own distinct packaging. These will be in stores on selected stores on November 15th, however I believe that they are out already in Hong Kong at Juice. More info at Tom Dixon Pour Lacoste.

diNovo Edge: Logitech’s Got Style
November 9, 2006

When it comes to ‘fashionable’ keyboards, the diNovo Edge takes the cake. After a few years of releasing the first generation models, Logitech is set to replace it with a completely new design. The most prominent of all features is its ‘thinness’ measuring in at only 11mm. The keyboard also comes with backlit keys which appear when in use and fade into the background when idle. Along with its Bluetooth capabilities and an elegant charging stand, this is sure to set a standard for stylish keyboards on the market today. It goes for $199 US, is not yet available in Canada, and I want one.

Adidas “Materials of the world”
November 9, 2006
A while ago, Adidas Originals introduced a new limited series called, “Materials of the world“. This collection includes Stan Smith Mid x Japan, ZX500 x Turkey, Attitude Hi x Indonesia, Dragon W x China, and Gazelle W x Mexico. The thing that makes this collection so special is that, the design and the materials used for these shoes are based on the unique culture of each country. I’m really feeling the series as it really brings out the uniqueness of every country through the materials used. Stay tuned for more to come from this series.

EXILE Cigars
November 9, 2006

Cuban Imports, Inc. recently introduced EXILE® – a rare and exquistie cigar brand that celebrates the traditions of pre-embargo Cuban cigar making. EXILE® is comprised of aged, rich blend of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos delivering a rich and complex character with a spicy-sweet finish. Presented in a rustic 24 count box with a suggested retail price ranging from $5.50 to $8.50 per cigar (which isn’t bad at all in my opinion), each EXILE® cigar is delicately covered in a paper reproduction of the February 4th, 1962 headline page of the New York Daily Mirror declaring President John F. Kennedy’s enactment of the Cuban embargo. I haven’t tried them out personally so I can’t be sold by their quality and taste but the overall packagin alone looks to be a winner.
EXILE® will be available at fine tabacconists throughout North America.

Jordan TV Commercials
November 9, 2006

Sneakers.fr has a really impressive collection of television commercials for most of the Jordan shoes including the early days with Mars Blackmon. Many of these bring back nostalgic moments for me, as I enjoyed many of these commercials as a kid. These commercials are done extremely well, since Nike always works with the best creative agencies. All you Jordan fans can check it out here.

Creative Recreation x MUSINSA
November 9, 2006

Creative Recreation is definately one of my favourite brands for footwear. The stuff they put out in recent years has been great, as they use clean, simple designs and colours for many of their footwear. This pair of Cesario that I came across at The Hundreds is a bit more lavish but nonetheless conforms to my liking. They have teamed up with a website called MUSINSA, a Korean online street-culture mag and come up with this shoe using numerous materials. Check out more info and pics at The Hundreds blog.

Check out the new Adobe site, The Creative Mind, which showcases the capabilities of their new Adobe Creative Suite 2.3. The interactive flash site is really well done with cartoonish graphics and jovial tunes in the background. Take a look here.
